Our story

It started with Starman

On February 6, 2018, Starman is launched into space on the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. It is the moment sending humans to Mars in our lifetime becomes a possibility.

Surviving on Mars

Astreia is founded with the goal of enabling sustainable human life in space. The challenge is set: develop self-sufficient habitation that can be built anywhere, even on another planet.

Starting on Earth

We begin on Earth, deploying our technology to build sustainable housing across the globe. By aiming for Mars, we also solve for the global housing and climate crises on Earth.

It's time to build

Astreia sets up in Austin, Texas, where the first project is built for a customer. The next phase begins: building and scaling our own Astreia communities.

Founder: Dr Natalie Rens

Born in South Africa, I've lived in seven countries and consider 'home' to be Earth (for now). When I was 10 years old, I set my goal to help humanity.

At 16, I left home to study a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Master of Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience, and PhD in Neuroscience. I then served as the first Artificial Intelligence Specialist for the Australian government, until Starman..

Today, I'm the founder and CEO of Astreia. My life ambition is to ensure we survive our first steps as a spacefaring civilization.
